Team 2 Day 4 2024

The day started off with the women of the group visiting the Señorita's House where they played games, talked and just loved on them. I think it's tough being a teenage girl anywhere in the world and it's nice to know that someone sees you and loves you.

A table full of dental supplies were delivered to the dentist that volunteers her time here. There were many other donations given to the orphanage (sorry, we didn't get pictures of those).

There was more painting on the Cuna House (5 year olds and younger)

Even after the work, there was plenty of time to hold the babies and love on them.

The organization here has several different houses that offer different environments for the children. Some are age based homes, others are homes where they try to keep siblings together, some are for just teenage boys or teenage girls.
For lunch we often go to different houses and they cook great meals for us.
It's always a great time to sit in the shade, play games with the kids and build relationships.

This year we've had several of the caretakers come to our hotel and share with us about their lives. Here Cynthia shares what it was like for her to grow up in the orphanage and then to continue on as a House Parent that cares for the current generation of kids in her home.

The evening finished off with more games, laughter and relationship building.
Often times the most important thing that these orphans need is to know that they are seen and valued.
And maybe that's what we need too.
