The day started with a devotional by Julie on the topic of "Releasing the burdens you were never intended to bear" from the book Traveling Light by Max Lucado. She highly recommends it. One of the things that stood out was that God desires to lighten our loads... but how do we let him? "Come to me", he invites, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matt 11:28 NLT
For the first time, we had a translator in church for the English speakers (us). Church is so much more impactful when you understand the message! We were encouraged to pay attention to what we are putting into our mind (music we listen to, movies we watch and even people we have in our lives).
It was Communion Sunday and honestly I like communion with tortillas better than with bread.
There was time at the market.
We were also blessed to take 30 kids to lunch and get to know them better.
We had a fun shopping day at the street fair in Comala.
And you never know what will turn up when you're at a festival...
YES! There was a donkey taking a ride in a car!
We finished the day off with planning for tomorrow, where we will play games at one of the houses with some of the kids under 5 year olds as well as some work projects.
