It was our first morning in Mexico. As we woke, one of our team members found that his door was decorated for his birthday!
Happy 14th Birthday BR
Each day we start with a quick devotional and prayer. Then we had a great breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Then it was off to church for Easter Service where we understood little, but fortunately they put the scripture verses on the monitor so that people could follow along.
We had a quick trip to the market to purchase our food for the next morning. and a couple of piñatas for a party later in the week.
Then we headed up to a small mountain town to have lunch with some of the caretakers. It was such a great time to get to know each other better as well as laugh and smile a ton!
One of the leaders specifically said that it was so good to have a normal conversation with other leaders. All too often the conversation between leaders can be all business.
I'm also sure it's good for them to get away from the kids for a bit and eat together with friends, but it's super obvious that they love their calling to serve the kids!
It was a great finish to have a birthday cake with BR AND he learned a tradition here in Mexico where you take the first bite out of your birthday cake (and get a little push on your head from behind).
Happy Birthday BR, I'm sure this is a birthday you will never forget!
