Our day started with a devotional. We were reminded that Jesus continued the first and greatest commandment with “love your neighbor as yourself”. We are He at Hogar de Amor to paint, sew, repair plumbing, but most important, to love our Mexican neighbors and our team.
After a “market breakfast”, the ingredients being purchased yesterday at our WalMart experience, we packed up supplies and drove to a Esperanza, a town on the outskirts of the state of Colima (not to be confused with the city of Colima which is in the state of Colima)
Sarai and Marcia started on the sewing project which was sheets and mattress covers for the baby house, Casa Cuna. God showed up - our second machine was broken, but the house parent for Casa Esperanza had been a professional seamstress and repaired the machine.
Lunch was at the adolescent home. They served tacos which were better than last nights restaurant dinner. Of course, the boys challenged Dan and Darrin to arm wrestling. Then Steve, WanYing, BR and Raynee played soccer FOUR against ONE. The game ended 6 to 5 … not saying who won.
Sarai lead the Casa Cuna children in several games. She also read a story about animals and we imitated spiders, cats, dogs and many other animals. Our fun time ended with blowing bubbles.
Then back to the hotel for a swim or a rest before going to Casa Matriz for dinner and games.
Keep up the amazing work!
