Wednesday: Projects Completed!

It was a long, hot day, and we are proud to have completed all of our jobs here at Hogar de Amor! We finished painting 4 rooms at Casa Golondrinas, the closets in the boys' home have shelves now, and the great room and stairway of the Señorita Home. The room was an unbecoming "guacamole green" and the girls and house mother were so excited when they saw the completed home that they were jumping for joy - literally! All of our projects this year have been so rewarding, and it's fun to see how excited the kids and caregivers get when their homes are a little more personal, more beautiful, and more comfortable.

The new paint on Casa Famoso is so pretty!
Uh oh... the pink and purple paint are not supposed to be on the same wall.
Casa Golondrinas is looking so cute!
We start on the señorita home painting - out with the green!
Painting a big room takes a big group!
Getting there!
Rex finishes up the stairwell
Ta dah!

We got to eat lunch at Casa Cuna, the baby house. So, not only was the food fantastic, but the company was unbelievably cute.
Praying for our meal

Activities were super fun again today, with more games, sports, songs, and crafts. Today's craft was making supercute bird puppets with this verse on the back:
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

This year we brought a unicycle down - it's been a big hit!

Will you please join us in prayer for these kids, that they know just how precious they are? Please pray that they know how valued they are by their caregivers, by us, and by their heavenly father. Pray that even in their hard circumstances they'll be confident and secure in God's love.
Hanging out with all those beautiful gals!
1500 eggs ready for tomorrow's egg hunt! Yikes!
