Saturday - We are here, well-fed, and ready for bed!

After a 1 hour car ride, 3.5 hour plane flight, 20 minute taxi ride, 2.5 hour bus ride, and 10 minute taxi ride we are happy and grateful to report that the team is here!

And after 8 tacos al pastor, 8 tacos de chorzo, 8 steak tacos, 4 tacos de lengua, 8 quesadillas sencillas, 8 helpings of twice-baked potatoes, 8 gringas al pastor, and an unknown number of churros, we are one happy team.

Tomorrow brings church, and orphanage tour, a drive in the countryside, and preparations for our first full day of work.

The crew, looking good and ready to go at the Salt Lake Airport
The view of the volcano from the bus
Eating... a lot of tacos
Buying new treasures (a bubble blowing set)
And eating... a lot of churros

Please join us in prayer that:
  • We are able to successfully navigate the city and countryside. This is our first trip without our trusty driver Peter and we could definitely use extra prayers that we get to where we want to go! Pray for safe travels, clear heads, and keen senses of direction.
  • Our bodies stay healthy and we get great rest.
  • The awesome sense of teamwork and camaraderie that the team has shown in these first few hours in Mexico would continue and magnify. Each member of the team is showing beautiful consideration for the others - they are such a blessing already!
